As Deputy Headmistress, it is Professor McGonagall’s responsibility to send out Hogwarts letters to new and returning students every year. This year, Main Character and some of their friends volunteer to help. It appears that as Main Character assists McGonagall with various tasks, stories from Professors and friends will come in handy to help Main Character remember their earliest use of magic. Conditional dialogue for Beatrice not having started at Hogwarts indicates that this will be a year 4 quest or earlier.
Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery Beyond Hogwarts
Characters in this quest include Penny, Merula, Tonks, Ben, Bill, Andre, Barnaby, Corey (Year 7) and Rowan. Main Character will get a chance to help several Hogwarts staff and discover their friends’ first magical memories as they try to remember their own. And thankfully for players, we have a choice among three magical memories instead of being locked into just one. Based on some variable dialogue that lists names of incoming students, this appears to be a Year 2 quest. The complete dialogue can be read here.
requirements are different depending on where in the main story you are. The first requirements are for Years 3 & 4. The second requirements are for Years 5 & 6. The third requirements are for Years 7 & 8.

You recovered your first magical memory and ensured that a new generation of Hogwarts students got their acceptance letters! In recognition of your efforts, you’ve earned a replica of the legendary Quill of Acceptance and Book of Admittance!
The Quill of Acceptance and The Book of Admittance are the tools by which students are selected for Hogwarts. At the first sign of a child exhibiting magic, the enchanted quill goes to inscribe the child’s name upon the book. Apparently the book sometimes needs more convincing and will snap shut, refusing to be written upon, until it receives more evidence of magical ability.
